Bernie’s Burger Bus

We’ve heard a lot of hype about Bernie’s Burger Bus and thought since we where in town we would give them a try. They’re known for great burgers and they are a huge mess so instead of hitting up the food truck we would try their new brick and mortar location.

Inside is decorated with a giant bus as their grill area and complete with a patio area. The menus have all the popular school lingo as names of their dishes.

We ordered a RECESS (GRILLED CHEESE) $6.75 a local sourdough bread grilled cheese with cheddar for our little one. I have to say I would totally eat this on my own and it was one of the best grilled cheese’s I’ve ever eaten!

I ordered the HOMEROOM $10.25 (cheddar cheeseburger, crispy bacon, “tipsy” onions, chipotle aioli, and topped with a fried egg) I just like a good messy burger with fried egg….who doesn’t?

D ordered the THE PRINCIPAL $9.50 (classic burger with a choice of cheese, all homemade mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup, thin sliced onions, pickles, shredded lettuce, and slow roasted garlic tomatoes)

We also ordered CHILI CHEESE FRIES $6.25 homemade chili, cheddar, chipotle aioli, and green onions TRUFFLE-LACED FRIES $4.50 with Italian white truffle oil, Parmesan, and green onions. Both items where fantastic and I would order them again.

I can’t wait till they open their new location in Katy, Texas. This is a great place with great burgers! The burgers are a little more pricey so it won’t be an all the time go to place, but when you want a good gourmet burger they are pretty tasty!
