Hyde Park Bar and Grill

There’s 2 locations for this restaurant so be sure to check out their website before heading out to see which one is closer for you. Hyde Park Bar and Grill is a cool trendy place, but when you walk in it was kind of a time warp. It looked like an old home redone to be a restaurant that needed some updating although their menu is nice an modern, it was a weird mash up.
We decided to venture out of our comfort zone and try some new cocktails. We got a Mojito $8 (Cana Brava rum, soda, lime, sugar) Moscow Mule $8 (Aylesbury Duck vodka, lime, ginger brew). The mojito was not very good it was way too sweet. I never had a Moscow Mule so I can’t really comment on it.

One of the things online was to make sure you get the fries $4.99. While they where good it was the dipping sauce they make that was really good.

D is a lover of the onion rings so we got an order of them too. They where piping hot, but nice thick and fat rings. SOUR CREAM & ONION RINGS $5.99 (chicken fried onions, sour cream dip, scallion)

I ordered the CHICKEN FRIED CHICKEN $11.99 (your choice of an thinly sliced Akaushi beef cutlet or tender chicken breast, buttermilk dipped, breaded and slow fried then served with black pepper cream gravy, mashed potatoes and your choice of one side) For the sides I got the mac and cheese homemade cheese sauce tossed with macaroni pasta, finished with potato crumbs. I shared with our child, and it was a big hit for the 2 of us. Their chicken is really moist and I really enjoyed the coating.

I also got a side of JALAPENO CORNBREAD $1.99 (sweet jalapeño cornbread served with a mild green chile butter) Totally worth ordering it’s so good, but ours seemed a little over baked.

D ordered the PORK & MAC $12.99 (slow roasted pork shoulder served atop creamy mac & cheese with tangy sweet pickled peppers, soft boiled egg and cilantro). This wasn’t a wow dish for me, but he really enjoyed it.

Also don’t forget to take a picture with the giant fork outside!

Would I go back? Sure, I would try a couple different items on the menu and give them another chance.
