Chuy’s

We’ve always been a fan of Chuy’s, but haven’t been in years. Since we where in the area we decided to grab lunch and it was one of the best decisions we made for the day!

The inside is like a maze to get to our table, but I still loved the atmosphere and that we where seated away from other groups instead of all being shoved in the same section.

D started out with one one of their signature margaritas The Father Agave $8.50 (The healing powers of Don Julio Silver tequila mixed with the sanctity of Grand Marnier.) I forgot to take a picture of it, but he said it was really good.

As we waited to order we snacked on their salsa and green sauce. I can’t tell you how in love I am with this green sauce! There’s some copy cat recipes out there, which have come close, but aren’t the same. Basically it’s a ranch cilantro cream sauce. Oh so good!!

We opted for the Chile Con Queso $5.79 (Homemade blend of melted cheese, Green Chile sauce and Ranchero sauce). We where starving so what’s better then cheesy goodness? It was ok, I think it’s overpriced and probably won’t order it again, but it was still good never the less.

Famous “Big As Yo’ Face” Burritos $9.29 (A homemade, 12” flour tortilla stuffed with refried beans, cheese and your choice of the following. Served with your choice of sauce & your choice of Mexican rice or green chile rice.) I chose fajita beef and really recommend it! OMG is this good! I loved that not only the meat, but the whole burrito had a nice grilled smoky flavor to it. I also appreciated the amount of meat you got in there and it wasn’t just filled with rice and beans. OH! Be sure you ask for the green chili rice you won’t be disappointed. There’s no extra charge, but if you like flavor and spice you’ll love it.

The Elvis Presley Memorial Combo $10.29 (Beef Tex-Mex enchilada, cheese Ranchero enchilada, chicken Tomatillo enchilada, a seasoned ground sirloin crispy taco & homemade tostada chips dipped in chile con queso) Ehh, these where ok, not bad, but not the best. I would stick to something else next time.

Would I go back? HECK YEAH!! I signed up for their email newsletter online, but so far haven’t gotten anything so I’m not sure if they have any freebies.
